Contract Exteriors To Create Commercial Division

December 14, 2017

Contract Exteriors

Contract Exteriors

An exterior general contracting company with an expanding Wilmington office plans to establish a commercial division next year.

Contract Exteriors, founded in Myrtle Beach in 2009, focuses on siding, roofing, decking and other exterior services for residential and commercial projects. The company opened an office in Wilmington in 2015, and its Wilmington market includes New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender and Onslow counties.

Contract Exteriors’ new-construction and remodeling divisions have been running the company’s commercial projects, said Randy Hann, company president. But that will change with the addition of a separate commercial division in 2018, he said.

“No matter what we do, whether it’s new construction, remodeling, residential or commercial, our No. 1 goal is to deliver the experience that a customer wants and expects,” he said. “To really deliver that experience, we needed to separate the commercial out.”

Commercial jobs require more on-site time and more attention to the details of a particular plan and can take longer to complete, Hann explained.

“Because commercial has its very unique way to do business, we need a team that understands that day in and day out,” he said.

In the Wilmington market alone this year, Contract Exteriors officials hope to hire five to 10 more employees to add to its existing Wilmington team of 10, who work out of the Contract Exteriors office on Old Eastwood Road.

With six different territories along the North Carolina and South Carolina coastline, the company currently employs a total of 84 people.

“By the end of the year, with people coming on board, we’ll probably end up with 90 employees,” Hann said.
